It seems like it's always open, except they do close early on Sundays. Note, the library also hosts events for kids as well. will have a 24 hour ballot drop box to support the November 3, 2020 General Election. Big incentive, big reward for a child...even a teenager. Lots of kids from the nearby schools go there to study after school. 5 stars everytime for me.. great kids programs.. Great front desk staff.. The security could have been a little more reasonable and tapped the man on the shoulder or something less obnoxious and rude. This library is huge. Get some more seating, update the building, and stretch that 2 hour parking limit to 4 hours? I love my library - it's right next to where I have my business. The nice librarian said that anyone who could read could have a card but Mrs. Brown (who they have named a room after) had a rule that you had to be 5 years old to get a card. This place provides a quiet, safe environment for me to take care of my business. From a studious kid, undergrad, and even as a grad student, libraries were among my favorite places. The Main Library book drops are now open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week! There's free wifi, and two levels. Securely drop off your mail-in ballot. I think they are sorta old school and set in their ways. Sit, grab a book and turn the pages ceaselessly. I consider myself a bookworm, only these days I tend to use Amazon Kindle for all my reading needs. Pros: Lots of books and lots of different programs for all ages. San Leandro is a Federal Depository Library. It is remodeled and comfortable and they have a great selection of books. :-) The reading program takes place from June-August, every year. I spent many hours here in high school (and currently, some in college) finding critical books and research material that I couldn't find in other places I searched. Other than not having air conditioning in their small cafe I have no complaints regarding this public library. Note, parking is only 2 hours. Of course there's the magazine & newspaper area as well as all the books and enough space to do some studying!! They have sections cornered off for Teens and Children with books and lounges that are designed just for them. Note, parking is only 2 hours. The reward for completing the program....an invitation only invite to the Carnival being held next month! They also have some great programs for preschoolers. It seems to be the quietest since this is where most of the adult books are. This is also a great place to rent movies, they have a pretty large selection, which include VHS, We also participate in the summer reading.
