I was loving both of them on their own but wasn't sure where David Baldacci was going with it.
I read this sequel to Rattle immediately after finishing the first book and enjoyed the seamless manner in which the author continued the story. I am amazed at the sheer number of books written...but also written well. You cry so when Sylvie is involved in a train wreck which makes her late arriving home. This book is going to keep you from doing anything but turn the pages till the end.
For me this was such a book.

I particularly enjoyed the excursions into the past histories of some of the main characters which highlighted the reasons behind their actions. But for me, the star of this wonderful novel was Saul, ‘no longer a boy but not yet a man’. And each one taking its toll on her life and career. Highly recommended if you like psychological suspense with fascinating characters. I clicked download as soon as I could and ventured off to a quiet retreat to get stuck in.
Cummins excels at raising the level of dread and suspense, and this unpredictable, impossible-to-put-down read is dark, gripping, and eerie.

I couldn't wait to get more of her writing in my greedy little hands. It is not uncommon to find a twisty thriller to pass the time, but it is rare to find a thriller so very well written, with characters that will make you care so much that you cry (I cried three times). Decent entertainment - nothing earth-shattering here.
