Now, I’m not saying Final Fantasy Tactics is the Dark Souls of the FF series (FF2 is probably more impenetrable in terms of mechanics because the project head of that title literally likes to be surprised by the mechanics of his own games and went on to make the even more obtuse SaGa franchise), but it definitely does kick your ass if you’re a sweet summer child more used to the relatively low-strategy/tactics of the mainline games and don’t sufficiently gird your loins for each upcoming battle.
To be honest, it looks like a cross of Final Fantasy Tactics series with Tactics Ogre series. Back when internet was not so much available, we would wait for guidebooks and walkthroughs to come out just to figure out things. It is even more balanced.
