Afterwards, Ahadi, Mufasa, Rafiki and Zuzu discuss the problems of the kingdom, before coming to a conclusion that the King needs a majordomo to assist him in the matters of the kingdom, to which Ahadi gives the job to Zuzu (whose son Zazu would inherit the title during Mufasa's reign) and also makes Rafiki his adviser. He encounters a wandering baboon named Rafiki, to whom he offers shelter after learning of the simian's mission to collect knowledge. Ahadi appoints Rafiki to be his royal adviser.

Ahadi turns to Rafiki and comments that it would be much easier to learn about small problems before they become big ones. She is the mate of Ahadi, with whom she has two sons: Mufasa and Taka. Ahadi is bold, resilient, and strong-willed. Taka interjects, reminding Ahadi that he had promised to take his sons hunting that morning, but Ahadi regretfully postpones the trip. After the animals surround the herd, Ahadi demands an explanation from the buffaloes, who blame Mufasa and Taka for what happened.
